Assistant Manager – Maintenance (FMCG)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Maintenance to lead plant machinery, utilities and facility upkeep within a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, rapid breakdown resolution and driving equipment reliability to minimise production downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machinery breakdowns promptly.
• Oversee mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and utility systems.
• Supervise maintenance teams, ensuring timely completion of work orders.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, maintenance budgets and procurement.
• Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, suppliers and service providers.
• Maintain plant utilities, building and overall facility condition.
• Record maintenance activities, generate technical reports and track KPIs.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead maintenance teams and manage budgets.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
