Assistant Professor of Pharmacology – Academic Position

About the role

Riphah International University seeks an experienced Assistant Professor of Pharmacology to join its faculty in Lahore. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality lectures, lead cutting‑edge research, and contribute to curriculum development in pharmacology, therapeutics, toxicology, and pre‑clinical drug development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging lectures and seminars in pharmacology and related subjects.
• Develop, update, and modernise curriculum content to reflect current scientific advances.
• Conduct original research, including pre‑clinical drug development, pharmacokinetic studies, and toxicology assessments.
• Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
• Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students in research projects.
• Design experimental studies, including DOE, randomized controlled trials, and clinical trial protocols.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as HPLC systems, ensuring method validation and calibration.

Required profile

• PhD in Pharmacology or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum five years of teaching and research experience in pharmacology or related fields.
• Strong academic writing, grant‑writing, and publication record.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• High‑Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) operation and maintenance.
• Pharmacokinetic study design and analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, VBA, and Excel for data analysis.
• Experience with statistical analysis software.
