Energy Regulatory Attorney – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Attorney to provide specialized legal counsel on federal and state energy regulations. This remote contract position supports a leading global energy entity with high‑stakes regulatory proceedings and policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on compliance with federal and state energy regulations, including FERC and state public utility commissions.
• Draft and file regulatory documents, petitions, and motions in energy‑related proceedings.
• Analyze proposed regulations, tariffs, and rate cases to assess legal risks and develop strategic responses.
• Represent the client in meetings with regulators, stakeholders, and industry groups.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the energy sector and provide timely updates to leadership.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction, preferably with energy regulatory experience.
• Demonstrated experience in energy law, including familiarity with FERC regulations and state utility law.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities to interpret complex regulatory frameworks.

• Experience handling regulatory filings, proceedings, or policy advocacy in the energy sector.
