Imports Lead

About the role

The Imports Lead will manage end‑to‑end import operations for the company, ensuring compliance with policies while driving cost‑smart initiatives. Reporting to the Manager Procurement Pakistan, the role coordinates with vendors, banks, government bodies and internal teams to support efficient international trade.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all import activities, including QEM preparation, customs clearance, LC opening and advance payments.
• Improve on‑time delivery performance (OTIF) by optimizing international and local logistics processes.
• Review purchase requisitions, issue RFQs, prepare QEMs, evaluate quotations and negotiate costs.
• Manage purchase order approvals, landed‑cost analysis and import documentation (duties, taxes, freight, bank charges).
• Enter, park and clear import‑related expenses, coordinating with banks for financial instrument clearance.
• Ensure formal closure of import cases by aligning supply chain, finance, logistics and vendors.
• Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives across duties, freight and procurement expenses.
• Arrange registration and evaluation of new suppliers to maintain a competitive source base.

Required profile

• Proven experience in import operations, procurement or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of customs clearance, letters of credit and import documentation.
• Ability to analyze costs, negotiate with suppliers and drive process improvements.
• Excellent coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
