About the role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Permitting & Licensing Analyst to support the back‑office function for a US retail chain. You will manage permit and license applications, renewals, and compliance tracking across multiple locations and states.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, submit and follow up on business, food service, health department, and occupancy permits and renewals.
- Track food establishment and handler permits, inspection requirements, and sales tax/seller’s permits.
- Support new location acquisition paperwork, ensuring all permitting, licensing, zoning and occupancy tasks are completed.
- Assist with real‑property, personal‑property filings and ancillary permits such as outdoor seating, grease trap, waste disposal, and music licensing.
- Maintain permitting and licensing trackers, renewal calendars and compliance deadlines across multiple states.
- Communicate with state and municipal agencies, health departments and third‑party expediters to resolve routine issues.
- Keep audit‑ready documentation and escalate complex matters to senior resources.
Required profile
- 1‑2 years of experience in permitting, licensing, regulatory compliance or a related back‑office function.
- Working knowledge of U.S. retail permitting and licensing processes; multi‑state exposure preferred.
- Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordination with agencies and internal teams.
