Production Support Officer – Manufacturing

About the role

You will support and improve production at GSK's manufacturing site in Karachi. Working closely with operators, maintenance, quality, and contractors, you will ensure equipment runs safely, reliably, and efficiently while contributing to GSK’s mission to get ahead of disease.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment to meet safety, quality, and output targets.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and coordinate timely repairs with maintenance teams.
• Maintain accurate production and maintenance records, including downtime and changeovers.
• Collaborate with quality and safety teams to uphold Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and site EHS standards.
• Supervise and coach technicians or operators to maintain smooth shifts.
• Identify and support continuous‑improvement actions that increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumental Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience working in a GMP‑compliant facility.
• Practical knowledge of production equipment (compression, coating, encapsulation, blister, filling, labeling, cartoning).
• Experience supervising a small team or coaching technicians.
• Understanding of sterile‑area procedures or clean‑room operations.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

• GMP compliance knowledge.
• Risk assessment and safety‑hazard control expertise.
