Senior Backend Developer – PHP/Laravel

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with deep expertise in PHP and Laravel to design, build and maintain scalable backend services that power our web, mobile and internal products. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, high‑performance APIs and integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance backend applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Design clean, secure RESTful APIs for web and mobile clients.
• Create and optimise MySQL database schemas, queries, migrations and relationships.
• Implement authentication, role‑based access, payment processing, notifications and reporting features.
• Integrate third‑party services such as payment gateways, CRMs, email/SMS providers and analytics tools.
• Build admin panels, dashboards and internal tools.
• Manage queues, scheduled tasks, background jobs, caching and performance optimisation.
• Troubleshoot production issues, fix bugs and improve system stability.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code and conduct code reviews.
• Mentor junior developers and enforce backend development standards.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience with PHP and the Laravel framework.
• Proven ability to design and deliver REST APIs for web and mobile.
• Deep understanding of MySQL database design and query optimisation.
• Experience with authentication, OAuth, API tokens and secure backend access.
• Hands‑on experience integrating external APIs and payment gateways.
• Solid knowledge of queues, cron jobs, caching mechanisms and Redis.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and GitLab deployment workflows.
• Professional level English communication skills.
