About the role

At FunFox, Australia’s leading online English learning platform, the Academic Counsellor serves as the backbone of the parent experience. You will manage relationships, coordinate communications and ensure smooth progress for each child’s learning journey. The role sits in the Customer Success department and reports directly to the COO.

Key responsibilities

• Build genuine relationships with parents, providing warm and solution‑focused support.
• Coordinate parent‑teacher meetings and manage scheduling through the student portal.
• Lead structured touchpoints across the term, including new‑parent orientations, portal walkthroughs, mid‑term check‑ins and retention conversations.
• Monitor class attendance on rostered days and follow up with absent or late students.
• Manage the WhatsApp parent‑support channel on a twice‑weekly basis.
• Draft and coordinate outgoing parent email communications, FAQs and term updates.
• Handle payment reconciliation, instalment tracking and reminder messages.
• Coordinate end‑of‑term prize dispatch for students.
• Build and maintain term schedules on the FunFox portal.
• Perform brief class check‑ins according to the roster (morning, evening) to confirm attendance and relay messages.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Warm, empathetic and genuinely good with people.
• Ability to manage multiple communication channels and schedules efficiently.
• Attention to detail and proactive follow‑up mindset.
