Assistant Manager Commercial & General Procurement

About the role

The Assistant Manager Commercial & General Procurement will independently manage end‑to‑end strategic and routine procurement for CAPEX and OPEX projects, with a focus on civil‑work related activities. The role ensures compliance with sourcing policies, drives supplier negotiations, and oversees contract performance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute day‑to‑day procurement of goods and services based on end‑user requirements, adhering to the sourcing policy.
• Lead RFI, RFQ and RFP processes for projects of varying size and complexity.
• Develop and implement category strategies and procurement plans, securing necessary approvals.
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve business objectives, managing contracts and ensuring compliance with payment terms, pricing, discounts and rebates.
• Evaluate and improve key supplier performance, conducting periodic business reviews.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to maintain contract oversight and compliance.
• Motivate vendors to participate in tenders, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
• Prepare and present procurement proposals, including bid analysis and supplier selection.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecom, Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, International Business or Economics; Master’s degree preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in technical or commercial sourcing, preferably for civil‑work projects.
• Relevant procurement or supply‑chain certifications are advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong project management and contract management capabilities.
• Proficiency in leading RFI, RFQ and RFP processes.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier performance evaluation skills.
