CAD Technician – Industrial Metal Fabrication

About the role

We are seeking experienced CAD Technicians to join our industrial metal fabrication team. You will translate conceptual designs and client specifications into precise 2D drawings and 3D models for a range of products, including air ducts, pipelines, steel structures, and pressure vessels.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D technical drawings and 3D models from conceptual designs and client requirements.
• Produce shop drawings with exact dimensions, weld specifications, and material thicknesses.
• Design nesting layouts for laser and plasma cutting machines to minimise material waste.
• Read and interpret technical blueprints, piping diagrams, and structural plans.
• Collaborate with the production team to resolve fit‑up and assembly issues.
• Revise drawings based on workshop feedback and manage drawing files, revision histories, and ISO‑compliant documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in CAD drafting for industrial metal fabrication.
• Strong understanding of welding specifications, material thicknesses, and cutting processes.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and coordinate with production teams.
