Communications Specialist

About the role

Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, is seeking a Communications Specialist to raise the organization’s profile and effectively convey its work to diverse audiences. The role involves developing and executing communication strategies, managing knowledge repositories, and supporting visibility across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior management to design a comprehensive communication strategy and documentation plan.
• Support program leaders in creating project communication plans aligned with donor requirements.
• Coordinate visibility efforts with donors, government partners, and implementing agencies.
• Develop success stories, policy briefs, and digital content to highlight achievements.
• Assist in drafting concept notes, proposals, and donor‑ready documents.
• Lead social media campaigns, press kits, and digital outreach to position Jhpiego as a public‑health thought leader.
• Represent Jhpiego at national and provincial forums, advocacy events, and media engagements.
• Design and implement a knowledge‑management strategy to ensure timely access to relevant information.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic communications, preferably within the health or nonprofit sector.
• Strong ability to produce compelling narratives, success stories, and policy briefs.
• Experience coordinating with donors, government entities, and partner organizations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
