Data & Analytics Manager – Core Wallet & Banking Platform

About the role

We are seeking a senior Data & Analytics Manager to lead the end‑to‑end data agenda for a Core Wallet and Core Banking Transformation program across multiple African markets. The role will own data architecture, migration and analytics delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance and zero‑impact customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end data agenda for customer master, KYC, wallet balances, transaction history, agent and merchant data, GL, reconciliation and regulatory reporting, as well as supporting reference data.
• Design, maintain and evolve current‑state and target‑state data architectures (conceptual, logical and physical) for each operating company and at the group level.
• Plan and lead all data migration activities for greenfield deployments, legacy upgrades and supplier swaps, covering profiling, mapping, transformation, cleansing, reconciliation, cut‑over and post‑migration validation.
• Define and enforce data protection, retention, backup and disaster‑recovery standards, ensuring compliance with data‑protection, residency, AML/KYC and central‑bank reporting requirements across all markets.
• Lead implementation of the analytics and reporting layer, delivering regulatory reports, operational dashboards, reconciliation reporting and analytics inputs, and transition ownership to BAU data teams.
• Produce and govern conceptual, logical and physical data models, integration contracts, data definitions and source‑of‑truth mappings; maintain data lineage across platforms.
• Partner with the Solutions Architect to align overall system architecture and act as the design authority for the data domain.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data architecture and migration projects within banking or fintech environments.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements such as AML/KYC, data residency and central‑bank reporting.
• Ability to work across multiple operating companies and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrated capability to design and govern enterprise‑wide data standards and reference data approaches.
