About the role
The Editorial Assistant will support CNA's Karachi Bureau by providing editorial, administrative and logistical assistance to ensure smooth news production and delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Manage bureau finances, payments and monthly expense reporting.
- Maintain legal, financial and logistical records, including work‑trip arrangements and accreditation applications.
- Source filming locations, obtain permits, and coordinate hiring and payment of freelancers.
- Negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure services at competitive prices.
- Oversee staff leave schedules, office environment and fixed‑asset documentation.
- Research content, arrange interviews and assist correspondents with on‑location tasks.
Required profile
- Business administration or journalism degree preferred.
- Minimum three years of relevant media or journalism experience.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Independent worker capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Required skills
- Basic video editing.
- Filming knowledge.
