Energy Regulatory Attorney (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Attorney to join a leading global energy company on a contract basis. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while providing strategic legal counsel on federal and state energy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on compliance with FERC, state public utility commissions, and environmental standards.
• Draft and file regulatory documents, petitions, and motions for energy‑related proceedings.
• Analyze proposed regulations, tariffs, and rate cases to identify legal risks and develop strategic responses.
• Represent the client in meetings with regulators, stakeholders, and industry groups.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the energy sector and brief leadership.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction, preferably with energy regulatory experience.
• Proven experience in energy law, including familiarity with FERC regulations and state utility law.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities to interpret complex regulatory frameworks.
