Internal Audit Manager

About the role

The Internal Audit Manager will support METRO Pakistan in achieving its strategic objectives by applying a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve risk management, control, and governance processes across stores and head office.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Manager/Division Manager Internal Audit in preparing the annual risk‑based audit plan.
• Conduct risk‑based audits of stores and head‑office functions, as well as consulting projects to ensure effective internal controls.
• Obtain commitment from stakeholders on audit recommendations and perform follow‑up reviews to verify implementation.
• Coordinate with METRO AG Performance Improvement for updates to the Business Monitoring/Store Check tools and implement changes locally.
• Lead Business Monitoring assignments, gather action plans from stores for low‑performance areas, and prepare observation reports on inventory counts.
• Provide ongoing support to other departments on standard operating procedures and control issues.
• Execute special assignments as directed by management.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ICMAP, ICAP finalist, ACCA) or MBA Finance with CIA qualification; CIA certification is a plus.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in statutory audit, risk advisory, or finance within a reputable organization.
• Willingness to travel and ability to quickly grasp the Metro Cash & Carry business model.
