Principal Software Engineer – Backend

About the role

Dubizzle Labs is expanding its Pakistan office and seeks a senior backend engineer who loves to learn, perform, and mentor. You will work in a high‑quality engineering environment focused on delivering value to customers across ten countries.

Key responsibilities

• Gather deep understanding of the Dubizzle code base and technology stack within weeks.
• Lead planning sessions for new product features and define roll‑out/roll‑back strategies.
• Design, develop and maintain multiple REST‑based APIs in a Service‑Oriented Architecture.
• Mentor team members, conduct peer‑programming and code reviews for major pull requests.
• Drive reliability and efficiency improvements across the code base, platforms and core systems.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional back‑end software engineering experience.
• Proven experience with high‑traffic, large‑scale web products.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud‑hosted infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Experience delivering end‑to‑end software development lifecycle.
