Production Engineer – Polishing

About the role

The Production Engineer – Polishing is responsible for planning, coordinating and optimizing polishing operations in a furniture manufacturing environment. The role ensures production targets are met while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and monitor daily production activities of the polishing section.
• Manage surface preparation, staining, colour matching, sanding, coating, finishing and final inspection.
• Monitor paint and polishing processes to minimise defects, rework and material waste.
• Identify production and quality issues, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize manpower, machine utilisation and process flow for higher productivity.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality standards, customer specifications and HSE requirements.
• Coordinate with Production Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse and other cross‑functional teams.
• Track KPIs, prepare production reports and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and develop supervisors and operators on polishing techniques and safe practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 4‑5 years of experience in the Polish/Paint department of a reputable furniture manufacturer.
• Hands‑on experience with wood finishing processes and coating systems.
• Strong analytical, technical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional manufacturing environment.
