Python Backend Engineer (AI Agents & SaaS Integrations)

About the role

Gramian Consultancy is seeking experienced Python Backend Engineers to support a client developing advanced AI systems. The role focuses on building realistic backend applications, SaaS connectors, and long‑horizon AI evaluation tasks. Work is fully remote and paid per approved task.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Python backend services that emulate established SaaS platforms.
• Develop REST APIs, micro‑services, and end‑to‑end backend workflows.
• Create new SaaS connectors from scratch and adapt existing integrations as needed.
• Perform thorough testing, validation, and integration checks to ensure connector accuracy.
• Analyze software workflows and datasets to define realistic AI evaluation tasks.
• Write detailed evaluation rubrics and conduct structured QA of task outputs.
• Leverage Claude Code and other AI coding assistants throughout development and testing.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Git, and basic CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude, Claude Code) in daily development.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
