Quantum Physics Researcher / Junior Professor (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified physicist to join a leading research services firm on a contract basis. The position focuses on advanced quantum physics research with applications in areas such as quantum computing, materials science, or theoretical modeling, and can be performed from anywhere.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate theoretical models to explain physical phenomena or optimise experimental designs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate physics‑based solutions into product development or research initiatives.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present results at academic and industry conferences.
• Mentor junior researchers or students on physics‑related projects and methodologies.
• Analyse experimental data to identify trends, validate hypotheses, and propose next steps.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics or a closely related field, with a focus on a relevant sub‑field such as quantum mechanics, solid‑state physics, or statistical mechanics.
• Experience with computational tools for modelling and simulation.
• Background in experimental physics, including hands‑on work with laboratory equipment or data acquisition systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
