About the role

The client is looking for a Remote Mechanical Engineer to provide expert technical guidance on system architecture, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize performance across distributed systems. This contract role supports critical infrastructure and product development for a global technology leader.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evaluate scalable system architectures that meet evolving business and technical requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve high‑priority technical issues in production environments with minimal downtime.
• Develop and document engineering best practices, standards, and guidelines for cross‑team adoption.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure quality and security standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience with distributed systems, microservices, or large‑scale backend infrastructure.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a track record of resolving complex technical challenges.
• Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate architectural decisions effectively.

Required skills

• Python, Java, Go, or Rust programming languages.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
