Remote STEM Researcher – AI Evaluation Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified STEM researcher to design and solve challenging problems that probe the limits of large language models. This full‑time remote position allows you to work from anywhere while collaborating with leading AI researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced STEM problems to evaluate large language model capabilities.
• Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with well‑articulated reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to align problems with evaluation goals, focusing on abstraction, multi‑step reasoning, and symbolic manipulation.
• Help define new evaluation benchmarks based on physics curricula ranging from early undergraduate to PhD‑level topics.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance analytical capabilities and support future‑proof career growth.

Required profile

• Ph.D., postdoctoral or Master’s level expertise in a STEM discipline, with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to break down complex STEM concepts into clear, simple explanations.
• Creative and lateral thinking to tackle challenging problems.
• Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
• Self‑motivated, independent worker with reliable desktop/laptop and internet connection.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of STEM subjects (engineering, physics, mathematics, etc.) at graduate or PhD level.
• Experience designing evaluation benchmarks for AI models.
• Proficiency in creating detailed, step‑by‑step solution documentation.
