Senior Associate, Payment Operations

About the role

The Senior Associate in Payment Operations will be responsible for the first‑level checking, verification and authorization of cheque transactions (both English and Arabic) within the Clearing and Centralized PDC area. The role ensures that all transactions are processed accurately, on time and in line with established procedures to maximise customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Check, verify and authorize English and Arabic cheque transactions against delivery standards.
• Ensure maker and checker entries are completed before cut‑off times and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Drive queue completion without supervisor follow‑up and maintain balanced clearing and collection accounts at day‑end.
• Maintain systematic records of documents and correspondence for efficient retrieval.
• Identify process gaps, recommend improvements and support risk mitigation.
• Learn and apply the 2C process, handling internal stakeholder and Business RM communications.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of back‑office experience in cheque clearing or banking operations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to read Arabic cheques (words and numbers).
• Strong interpersonal abilities and attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of general banking rules and regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard computer applications.
• Ability to read and interpret Arabic language cheques.
