Senior Citrix Engineer – CJIS

About the role

The Senior Citrix Engineer will own and support on‑premises Citrix environments for multiple clients, delivering virtual applications and full desktops while ensuring stability, security, and compliance with CJIS standards. The role combines design, deployment, and ongoing administration with mentorship and collaboration across solution teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, maintain, and support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops across several client sites.
• Administer the full Citrix stack – Delivery Controllers, Studio, StoreFront, License Servers, and associated SQL databases.
• Configure and manage Citrix ADC (NetScaler) features such as Gateway, load balancing, SSL offload, and content switching, using Cloud ADM for firmware management.
• Implement image provisioning with Machine Creation Services and maintain master images.
• Deploy and manage user profile solutions (Citrix Profile Management and/or FSLogix).
• Plan and execute Citrix version upgrades and site migrations while preserving user experience.
• Monitor performance and capacity via Citrix Director, tune HDX settings, and enforce security best practices.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and leverage the Citrix SDK for automation.
• Mentor junior team members, participate in design reviews, and maintain accurate documentation and timesheets.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience with on‑premises Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops deployments.
• Strong understanding of Citrix ADC (NetScaler) configuration and management.
• Proven ability to lead projects, mentor staff, and follow established change‑control processes.
• Commitment to staying current with emerging VDI technologies and CJIS compliance requirements.
