Senior Data Engineer & Data Architect

About the role

TechBiz Global is seeking a Senior Data Engineer & Data Architect to join a client’s team. This hybrid position blends hands‑on data engineering with strategic architecture, supporting advanced analytics and investment decision‑making in the financial services domain.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement enterprise data architecture aligned with business and investment strategies.
• Design scalable, secure, high‑performance data models and frameworks.
• Establish data governance, standards, and best practices across the organization.
• Lead data platform modernization and cloud adoption initiatives.
• Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica IICS.
• Build and optimise Snowflake solutions for performance and scalability.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability across large‑scale structured and unstructured datasets.
• Collaborate with finance, investment, and operations teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Work with BI and analytics teams to enable reporting and insights.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineering teams.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in data engineering and data architecture.
• Strong background in investment management, asset management, or financial services.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proven leadership, ownership, and mentoring capabilities.

Required skills

• Informatica IICS (Data Integration, Data Quality, Application Integration)
• Snowflake (data warehousing, optimisation, performance tuning)
• Advanced SQL and large‑scale data processing
• Data modelling (dimensional, normalized, enterprise)
• Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• ETL/ELT pipeline development
• Power BI or similar analytics tools (preferred)
• Data governance and catalog tools (preferred)
