Senior Storage & Backup Engineer (Commvault)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Storage & Backup Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise backup, data protection and cloud storage. The role will lead the administration and optimisation of our backup infrastructure, storage platforms and cyber‑recovery solutions across on‑premise and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and administer Commvault Backup for virtual machines, databases, Kubernetes clusters and enterprise file shares.
• Administer Commvault Cloud (Metallic) for Microsoft 365 backup and recovery.
• Manage Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) – protection policies, agent deployment, backup operations and restores.
• Operate Dell Cyber Recovery Solution (CRS) Vault, including air‑gapped copies, synchronization, vault policies and compliance.
• Administer Azure Native Backup and OCI Native Backup environments.
• Manage Dell PowerScale (Isilon) – NFS/SMB shares, capacity, permissions and cluster operations.
• Administer Dell ECS Object Storage – bucket policies and API integrations.
• Manage Pure Storage FlashBlade for S3 and object‑storage workloads.
• Support Azure Files, Azure Blob Storage and OCI Object Storage – access controls, lifecycle policies, replication and security.
• Administer Windows File Server Clusters – high‑availability configuration, disk resources and access permissions.
• Configure and maintain DFS Namespace (DFSN) and DFS Replication (DFSR).
• Troubleshoot backup and restore issues, monitor performance, conduct capacity planning and support disaster‑recovery operations.
• Maintain backup compliance, technical documentation, operational reports and standard procedures.

Required profile

• 7–10+ years of experience in enterprise backup, storage and data‑protection environments.
• Proven expertise with Commvault, Dell PowerProtect, Dell PowerScale, Dell ECS and Pure Storage FlashBlade.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident‑management and performance‑monitoring capabilities.
• Experience designing and operating cyber‑recovery and air‑gapped backup solutions.
• Background supporting large‑scale, multi‑platform IT infrastructures.
