Senior Water & Civil Engineer – Karachi

About the role

The Senior Water & Civil Engineer will act as the Technical Lead for the Second Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP‑2). Based in Karachi, you will provide strategic engineering guidance and oversee the technical quality of water supply and wastewater infrastructure across a USD 600 million program.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical oversight for all water and civil engineering components of the project.
• Review and approve design documents submitted by Design & Supervision Consultants.
• Monitor construction activities, verify compliance with approved standards and schedules.
• Evaluate technical performance and advise the Project Director and PIU on implementation challenges.
• Strengthen quality management systems and ensure adherence to international best practices.
• Coordinate with contractors, utility stakeholders and project management teams to resolve technical issues.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in water supply and sewerage infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in design review, construction monitoring and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with large‑scale, multi‑stakeholder programs funded by international development banks.
• Willingness to work onsite in Karachi for the duration of the assignment.
