SEO Team Lead

About the role

The SEO Team Lead will own a portfolio of client accounts from strategy to execution, while guiding a small team of 3–8 specialists. You will be on client calls, produce crawl reports, and be accountable for client retention and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client relationships: run calls, set expectations, write monthly narratives, and identify upsell opportunities.
• Lead technical SEO initiatives: crawl audits, log‑file analysis, crawl budget management, JS rendering, Core Web Vitals, migrations, schema markup, hreflang, canonicals, pagination, and internal linking.
• Develop on‑page and semantic strategies: create topical maps, conduct SERP intent analysis, perform content audits, and brief writers.
• Oversee off‑page efforts: digital PR, link acquisition, anchor‑text analysis, toxic link identification, and vendor vetting.
• Drive GEO and AI‑visibility work: prompt‑space research, citation tracking, content structuring for AI models, and off‑site surface engagement.
• Lead the team: assign tasks, QA work, plan capacity, train junior staff, maintain SOPs, and address performance issues.

Required profile

• 4+ years of SEO experience, including 1–2 years leading people or owning client relationships.
• Agency background preferred, comfortable handling 5–8 accounts simultaneously.
• Proven results you can discuss in detail (situation, action, outcome).
• Experience with GEO testing or AI‑visibility tracking.

Required skills

• Google Search Console (GSC) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
• Ahrefs or Semrush.
• Screaming Frog and Sitebulb.
• Log‑file analysis and JavaScript rendering knowledge.
• Core Web Vitals optimization.
• Schema markup, hreflang, canonical tags, pagination, internal linking.
• Digital PR and link acquisition techniques.
• Disavow tool usage and vendor evaluation.
• AI‑visibility tracking tools.
• Basic HTML.
