Software Engineer – Human Data Platforms (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a leading data‑infrastructure team and build scalable platforms that process human‑generated datasets. The position is fully remote and focuses on both real‑time and batch data processing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines that handle large‑scale human‑generated data.
• Develop and maintain backend services for real‑time and batch processing.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to guarantee platform reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability and performance.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Experience designing and optimising data pipelines for performance and scalability.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with distributed systems such as Kafka or Spark.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data infrastructure.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
