Solution Architect – 5G Packet Core & Policy

About the role

Ericsson is seeking an experienced Solution Architect specialized in Packet Core, Policy, and signalling to design and deliver end‑to‑end 5G solutions for its customers. You will translate business needs into technically viable offerings and ensure successful integration and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform solution setup, analysis, high‑ and low‑level design, deployment and acceptance for Dual Mode 5GC, Packet Core Controller, Gateway, Cloud Core Policy and Resource Controllers, and signalling controllers.
• Define solution scope for Packet Core, Policy, Signalling and 5G Core offerings.
• Analyse customer technology, capture business requirements and conduct risk assessments.
• Develop technical presentations, proposals and deliver customer briefings.
• Lead deployment and integration activities during project delivery.
• Provide feedback to R&D, contribute to knowledge transfer and documentation.
• Stay current with cloud‑native architecture, micro‑services, API ecosystems, automation and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science or Telecommunication Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the telecom industry in a similar role.
• Proven expertise in AMF, SMF, GW‑C, UPF, GW‑U, NRF, NSSF, PCRF, PCF, SCP, BSF, SEPP and DSC‑DA/DRA/DEA.
• Strong understanding of 5G Core cloud‑native applications, cloud infrastructure and IP networks.
• Experience as a system integrator delivering multiple customer projects.

Required skills

• OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Scripting with Shell and Python.
• Routing and network security concepts.
• Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, F5 and Fortinet (optional).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab/GDS/Pipeline.
