Staff Accountant

About the role

Sapere is seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to join its finance team. You will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, supporting month‑end close, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting processes, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month‑end/year‑end close.
• Perform bookkeeping duties such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll entries.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain organized financial records.
• Support tax filings and regulatory reporting as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters, ACCA, CA inter preferred).
• 1‑2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of full‑cycle accounting, bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience working with external auditors and supporting audit processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Caseware.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of GAAP or applicable accounting standards.
