SysOps Administrator

About the role

Pixalate is looking for a SysOps Administrator to manage and optimise its AWS and GCP cloud environments. You will ensure reliable, secure, and cost‑effective operation of cloud services supporting the company’s online trust and safety platform.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, fine‑tune, and monitor AWS and GCP infrastructure, including EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Redshift, Route53, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch Service, Kinesis, CloudWatch, SQS and equivalent GCP services.
• Implement cost‑governance, budgeting, and reporting using CloudWatch alarms and Stackdriver metrics.
• Upgrade software, patch kernels, manage disaster recovery and data backups.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, develop system configuration management, and enforce security best practices.
• Own the release process across all environments and continuously improve infrastructure practices.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, collaborating with engineering teams.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working alongside engineering teams.
• Fundamental networking troubleshooting knowledge.
• Responsiveness to alerts and ability to work US time‑zone meetings.
• Mobile phone with Slack installed (provided by Pixalate).
• Comfort with scripting or coding (a plus).

Required skills

• AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Redshift, Route53, CodeDeploy, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch Service, Kinesis, CloudWatch, SQS).
• GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud Monitoring, etc.).
• Infrastructure‑as‑code tools: Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Serverless.
• CI/CD pipelines: BitBucket Pipelines.
• Monitoring tools: CloudWatch, Stackdriver.
• Basic networking and scripting knowledge.
