Unit Head – RDA Investments Settlement (AVP/VP)

About the role

The National Bank of Pakistan is seeking an experienced professional to lead the RDA Investments Settlement unit. Reporting to the Wing Head of RDA Operations, the role oversees end‑to‑end settlement of government securities, equity trades, and Naya Pakistan Certificates while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise settlement of Government Securities and Equity Trades, aligning all transactions with regulatory standards.
• Manage subscription, encashment, maturity, and profit distribution of Naya Pakistan Certificates per SBP instructions.
• Monitor execution of SBP auctions, OMOs, discounting, and floor lending, ensuring timely exchange of agreements and payment instructions.
• Perform daily reconciliation of Treasury positions, securities, Nostro accounts, and settlement balances, escalating variances as needed.
• Review and analyse MIS reports for submission to stakeholders and regulators.
• Escalate critical issues, settlement delays, or system glitches to relevant parties.
• Support audit and inspection activities, responding to observations and providing required data.
• Identify process gaps and recommend automation or improvements to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
• Assess training needs and assist teams in skill development.

Required profile

• Minimum graduation; a master’s degree or professional qualification is preferred.
• At least 6 years of banking experience in Treasury Operations or Payment Services.
• Hands‑on experience with settlement of RDA products.
• Strong business acumen and ability to work independently under deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Hands‑on experience with Core Banking and Treasury applications.
