AI Engineer

About the role

Tethr is seeking a hands‑on AI Engineer to design and build modern AI applications that leverage large language models. You will work remotely in a talent‑centric, supportive environment, creating end‑to‑end solutions that integrate with APIs, databases, and backend systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI agents, multi‑step workflows, and orchestration using tools, APIs, and state management.
• Integrate LLM providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Azure OpenAI.
• Develop Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, and knowledge‑retrieval pipelines.
• Implement structured outputs, function calling, model routing, and controlled AI execution.
• Create evaluation, testing, and monitoring processes for output quality, reliability, and cost.
• Apply AI guardrails, logging, and human‑in‑the‑loop controls.
• Integrate AI solutions with backend services, REST APIs, and SQL databases using clean, modular Python code.
• Maintain clear technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, backend, or software development.
• Hands‑on experience building a production LLM or Generative AI system beyond a demo.
• Strong Python programming skills.
