AI Research and Development Engineer (Development Automation)

About the role

VGAVGA, a Kuwait‑based technology company, is looking for an AI Research and Development Engineer to join its Lahore Engineering Hub. You will design and operate an automated, agent‑driven pipeline that transforms product requirements into production‑grade software using cutting‑edge AI coding agents.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and run an end‑to‑end automated pipeline that converts requirements into working software.
• Break down vague or high‑level requirements into clear, structured specifications for AI coding agents.
• Drive AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor to generate real software, and debug or correct their output.
• Engineer guardrails—including automated review, testing, evaluation, and observability—to ensure generated code is reliable and production‑ready.
• Monitor the AI landscape, evaluate emerging models and frameworks, and run hypothesis‑driven experiments to assess cost, latency, quality and privacy.
• Architect integration of new models and tools without breaking multi‑tenancy, isolation, scaling or reliability.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on automation and AI‑driven development.
• Passion for reading model changelogs, model cards and staying ahead of rapid AI advancements.
• Ability to debug agent output and bridge the gap between prototype and production environments.
• Strong analytical mindset to separate signal from hype in emerging AI technologies.
