Backend Software Developer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Software Developer to join a global technology leader on a contract basis. This fully remote position allows you to design and implement scalable backend solutions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams across different time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using best‑in‑class coding practices and architecture.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets industry standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise system performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions for ongoing projects.

Required profile

• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on writing optimized, scalable code.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration across different time zones.
• Experience managing time and priorities without direct supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Familiarity with software development frameworks and libraries relevant to backend projects.
