Backend Software Engineer – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join a leading global IT services firm on a contract basis. Working remotely, you will design, build and maintain high‑performance backend systems that power critical applications for worldwide users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy robust backend services using modern frameworks and tools.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability for a global audience.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following industry best practices.
• Debug and resolve production issues with a focus on uptime.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with RESTful and GraphQL API development and integration.
• Strong understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases and query optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git.
