Bookkeeper

About the role

MVT is seeking a detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to support accurate financial record‑keeping for its Karachi operations. The successful candidate will maintain organized accounts, monitor transactions, and provide timely financial information to support business decisions and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily sales, purchases, receipts, payments and other financial transactions accurately.
• Maintain ledgers, journals, invoices, expense records and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile bank statements, cash balances, supplier and customer accounts.
• Track receivables and payables and follow up on outstanding balances with relevant teams.
• Assist with monthly closing, financial summaries and preparation of management reports.
• Verify invoices and coordinate with purchasing, warehouse and distribution teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain confidential financial records and support internal controls and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Practical bookkeeping experience covering general ledger, payables, receivables, cash and bank reconciliation.
• Strong command of spreadsheets, including data entry, formulas, sorting, filtering and basic reporting.
• Experience using accounting software or ERP systems for transaction recording and ledger maintenance.
• High accuracy when handling invoices, inventory‑related records, payments and financial documentation.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and reconcile records within agreed deadlines.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles, documentation controls and confidentiality.
• Organized communication and coordination skills for working with suppliers and internal departments.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑growing wholesale and distribution environment.
