Chief Executive Officer, Hospital Operations

About the role

The client, a leading healthcare institution, is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead the development, commissioning and management of a major tertiary‑care teaching hospital. The CEO will drive clinical excellence, patient‑centered care, financial sustainability and long‑term institutional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, commissioning and day‑to‑day operations of a world‑class tertiary teaching hospital.
• Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with institutional objectives, healthcare priorities and digital transformation.
• Ensure financial sustainability, operational excellence, governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Build a culture of clinical excellence, patient safety, quality and patient‑centered care.
• Integrate hospital delivery with medical education, research and academic development.
• Lead senior management teams, establishing performance, accountability and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• MBBS (mandatory) and preferably a Master’s in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, MBA or MPH.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CEO, COO, Hospital Director or equivalent executive role.
• Proven leadership in large tertiary hospitals (ideally 700+ beds) and experience managing complex, multidisciplinary senior teams.
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality standards, financial management and healthcare transformation.
• Track record of leading large‑scale healthcare projects, hospital commissioning or institutional transformation.
