Control Room Operator

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking a Control Room Operator to ensure the smooth and safe operation of its power plant in Rawalpindi. You will work on‑site, following established procedures to support plant start‑up, shut‑down and normal operations while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Execute operational tasks according to company policies, procedures and the plant operation plan.
• Assist in start‑up, shut‑down and routine operation of power plant systems.
• Optimize processes, flows and settings based on guidance from technicians and supervisors.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are serviceable and available.
• Monitor task status, complete logs and running records accurately.
• Identify and resolve routine problems; escalate complex issues.
• Perform emergency procedures to protect personnel and equipment.
• Support continuous improvement by suggesting and implementing enhancements.
• Maintain a clean and safe plant environment and collaborate with team members to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Diploma or BE in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in plant operations.
• Good cultural awareness and communication skills.
• Teamwork orientation and strong QHSE awareness.
• Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
