Department Manager - Canned Goods & Edible Grocery

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Department Manager to lead our Canned Goods & Edible Grocery team. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal shelf presentation, stock freshness, and a clean shopping environment while driving sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead store associates in merchandising, shelf and stock management, and department cleanliness.
• Track product expiries during and after deliveries and coordinate with associates to minimize waste.
• Train team members, addressing strengths and weaknesses to meet operational standards.
• Reduce shrinkage and maintain 100% product shelf viability.
• Assist with stock ordering, maintain optimal inventory levels, and execute planogram compliance.
• Handle customer complaints, update customer files, and ensure effective communication.
• Conduct weekly, monthly, and annual inventory checks to align stock with demand.
• Plan seasonal activities, merchandising, reordering, and staff scheduling.
• Enforce adherence to company policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or intermediate qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in retail department management.
