Energy Regulatory Attorney (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Attorney to provide specialized legal counsel on federal and state energy regulations. This remote contract position supports a leading entity in the energy sector, focusing on compliance, regulatory filings, and policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on compliance with FERC, state public utility commissions, and environmental standards.
• Draft and file petitions, motions, and other regulatory documents.
• Analyze proposed tariffs, rate cases, and regulations to assess legal risks.
• Represent the client in meetings with regulators, stakeholders, and industry groups.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and brief leadership.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated experience in energy law, especially FERC and state utility law.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities.

Required skills

• Expertise in federal and state energy regulations.
• Experience preparing and filing regulatory documents.
• Knowledge of tariff and rate case analysis.
