Energy Regulatory Attorney (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Attorney to provide expert legal counsel on federal and state energy regulations. This remote contract position supports a leading global energy company in navigating complex compliance and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on compliance with FERC, state public utility commissions, and environmental standards.
• Draft and file regulatory documents, petitions, and motions for energy‑related proceedings.
• Analyze proposed tariffs, rate cases, and regulatory proposals to identify legal risks.
• Represent the client in meetings with regulators, industry groups, and stakeholders.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and brief senior leadership.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated experience in energy law, including familiarity with FERC regulations and state utility law.
• Strong analytical and legal writing abilities.
