General Manager - Accounting & Tax

About the role

The General Manager – Accounting & Tax will lead the finance function of a premium international‑standard hospital in Islamabad. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, tax compliance and robust internal controls to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, maintain the general ledger and ensure timely month‑end and year‑end close.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage all direct and indirect tax matters, including income tax, sales tax, withholding tax and payroll taxes, and ensure timely filing of statutory returns.
• Lead the accounts payable function, monitor vendor payments, aging and working‑capital efficiency.
• Maintain strong financial controls, conduct reconciliations, accruals and provisioning.
• Coordinate with tax consultants, external auditors and regulatory authorities on assessments, audits and appeals.
• Support ERP implementation and finance automation initiatives to improve reporting efficiency.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with extensive experience in finance and taxation.
• Proven leadership capability in a dynamic, preferably healthcare, environment.
• Hands‑on experience managing complex accounting and tax issues.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance and regulatory frameworks.
