Lead Design Process

About the role

Descon Engineering Limited is seeking an experienced Lead Design Process to drive boiler and thermal engineering projects. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality engineering designs, supporting the marketing team, and ensuring compliance with standards and the Quality Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Execute basic and detailed engineering activities for boiler projects.
• Prepare technical specifications, design parameters, method statements, and engineering calculations.
• Review and technically evaluate vendor quotations and drawings.
• Develop engineering drawings and ensure they meet project specifications and contractual requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with the Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable standards.
• Deliver design outputs within project and proposal timelines.
• Support the marketing team during technical discussions and provide cost‑effective engineering solutions.
• Coordinate design activities, monitor project progress, and provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Troubleshoot design and operational issues and foster continuous improvement within the Boiler Design Department.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc./B.E.) in Chemical Engineering from a reputable institute.
• 6–9 years of relevant experience in process design, preferably in boiler or thermal engineering projects.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Good planning, organisational, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with engineering software/tools relevant to process design.
