Lead Engineer – Application Architecture & Scalability

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Lead Engineer who will own the architecture and scalability of our core applications. You will work closely with development teams to ensure that every service is designed for high performance, reliability, and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end application scalability, identifying bottlenecks and driving fixes.
• Define and enforce architectural standards that enable clean scaling as load increases.
• Maintain Helm charts and release models, keeping them simple and understandable for the team.
• Implement application‑level observability (tracing, profiling, metrics) and monitor performance under load.
• Lead an AI‑driven SDLC initiative, building internal tools and agents for triage, diagnostics, code review and operational reporting.
• Introduce appropriate developer tooling and mentor a small team on architecture and engineering quality.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of strong software engineering experience with a proven track record in architecture and scalability.
• Hands‑on experience with a modern web framework (Ruby on Rails, Node.js or Django) in production.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and caching solutions (Redis or Memcached).
• Experience with messaging/streaming systems such as Apache Kafka, Azure Service Bus or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with frontend build and release processes using Angular, React or Vue.
• Practical knowledge of containers, Kubernetes and Helm chart authoring.
• Experience defining engineering standards and building CI/CD quality gates.
• Interest in applying AI to engineering workflows.
