Lead Primary Engineer – High Voltage Substation Design

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Primary Engineer to act as the technical guarantor for high‑voltage substation design projects. The role ensures design work meets budget, schedule and quality expectations while facilitating easy installation, operation and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and align discipline provisional document lists with project schedules.
• Track and report full‑set KPIs on a monthly basis.
• Organise and follow formal design and gate review processes.
• Integrate ROR design parts and define mitigation plans with clear status tracking.
• Apply design management tools and submit coherent data sets.
• Maintain up‑to‑date workload plans and master design hours.
• Implement and manage design change processes.
• Deploy and validate interface sheets for the project.
• Ensure seamless information exchange with partners and suppliers, avoiding gaps and claims.
• Coordinate engineering platforms, meetings and NCR system usage.
• Deliver discipline documents for OM&M on time and comply with quality and GE policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in T&D, STATCOM, power generation or oil & gas EPC projects.
• Willingness to travel up to 20 % within MEA, Europe and other regions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
