Lead Systems & DevOps Engineer (Bare-Metal, Cloud, Linux)

About the role

Aqovia is looking for a Lead Systems & DevOps Engineer to define the technical direction of its hybrid infrastructure. You will balance self‑hosted bare‑metal environments with strategic cloud deployments, ensuring the platform remains secure, resilient and cost‑effective.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead the evolution of a hybrid infrastructure spanning physical servers and cloud resources.
• Manage the full lifecycle of hardware and virtual assets, including provisioning, monitoring and de‑commissioning.
• Own container orchestration, network configuration and storage solutions.
• Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and automate routine operations.
• Implement robust observability, CI/CD pipelines and security controls.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in Linux ecosystems (Debian, RHEL, Arch) with kernel tuning and advanced networking.
• Hands‑on experience with Type‑1 hypervisors (Proxmox, ESXi) and hardware management (IPMI, PXE automation).
• Proven track record with Docker/Podman and lightweight Kubernetes (k8s/k3s) including self‑hosted ingress.
• Extensive use of Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofu and scripting in Bash/Python.
• Experience building open‑source CI/CD pipelines (GitLab Runner, Gitea) and monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, LGTM).
• Strong security mindset using tools such as Fail2Ban, Let’s Encrypt, ZFS/LVM.
