Mechanical Engineer (Remote)

The client, a global leader in technology and internet services, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work remotely on critical system architecture and performance optimisation. Although the title references mechanical engineering, the role focuses on designing, troubleshooting and scaling distributed software systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evaluate scalable system architectures that meet evolving business and technical requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve high‑priority production issues with minimal downtime.
• Develop and document engineering best practices, standards and guidelines for cross‑team adoption.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and operations teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure quality and security standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience with distributed systems, microservices or large‑scale backend infrastructure.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and a track record of resolving complex technical challenges.
• Excellent written communication for technical documentation and architectural decisions.
