Nutrition Officer – Early Childhood Nutrition (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Early Childhood Nutrition Officer will provide technical, operational and programme support for UNICEF’s nutrition interventions in Pakistan. The role focuses on improving nutrition outcomes during the first 1,000 days, integrating infant and young child feeding, complementary diets, micronutrient nutrition and growth monitoring into early childhood development programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor nutrition activities that address infant and young child feeding, complementary feeding and micronutrient supplementation.
• Support growth monitoring and promotion activities, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Coordinate the prevention and management of acute malnutrition in collaboration with health and protection partners.
• Integrate nutrition components into Early Childhood Development, nurturing care and multisectoral programmes.
• Provide technical guidance to country teams, partners and stakeholders on nutrition standards and best practices.
• Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, budgets and evaluation reports.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Food Science or a related field.
• Experience working on early childhood nutrition programmes, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong understanding of the first 1,000‑day nutrition agenda and UNICEF’s nutrition guidelines.
