PHP Developer – Backend Web Development

About the role

We are seeking a skilled PHP Developer to own the back‑end services that power our web applications. You will design, build, and maintain server‑side logic, manage the central database, and ensure fast, reliable responses for front‑end users.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate user‑facing elements created by front‑end developers.
• Develop efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules.
• Resolve complex performance and architectural challenges.
• Design and integrate data storage solutions (databases, key‑value stores, blob stores, etc.).
• Write clean, well‑structured, maintainable PHP code and maintain documentation.
• Work with MySQL, optimize queries and database structures.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and payment gateways.
• Collaborate with front‑end teams to implement responsive designs.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest web technologies and best practices.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Yii.
• Understanding of PHP’s synchronous behavior and MVC design patterns.
• Basic proficiency with front‑end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3).
• Solid grasp of object‑oriented PHP programming.
• Awareness of accessibility, security compliance, and common web server exploits.
• Experience designing scalable applications and handling authentication/authorization across systems.
• Ability to integrate multiple data sources and create database schemas that support business processes.
• Familiarity with PHP limitations and effective workarounds.
